Who should shortlist the Provision 8?
The Provision 8 belongs in the conversation when a runner wants mild guidance with a responsive ride. That description is a starting point, not a prescription. Platform width, foam compression, upper hold and rocker shape all change how support feels in motion.
Fit checkpoints
Check heel security first, then midfoot pressure and toe room. If you need extra width, confirm that the selected listing offers it and that the shape suits your midfoot as well as your toes. Run long enough to notice whether guidance feels smooth or intrusive. Runners using orthotics should confirm insole removal, internal volume and combined support level.
Best uses
- Zero drop: evaluate comfort at the pace, surface and distance you actually plan to use.
- Wide toe box: evaluate comfort at the pace, surface and distance you actually plan to use.
- Mild support: evaluate comfort at the pace, surface and distance you actually plan to use.
Bottom line: choose the Provision 8 when its blend of guidance, cushioning and fit feels natural. Do not choose it only because a static footprint test says you pronate.
